About
I can talk about my dogs all the time, so I will be renewing the History page
frequently…
This story begins in the past century. The first dog came to live with us in 1985. It was an English
setter and it seems to me now that she was a God-sent gift. At that time we have not even thought
about buying a dog, but my mom could not pass by a stray that tried to cross a huge square by Kursky
Train-station in Moscow. She circled the neighborhood and asked everyone whether they had seen this
dog before. No, nobody knew her. It was obvious that the dog was lost. My mom brought her home and
her first words, as two of them came in were: “Just don’t’ get afraid…” I will never
forget our first meeting; this dog was the last creature to be afraid of.

Latty |
She was lying on the floor helpless and distraught. Three toes were missing on one of her feet and she had a huge abscess on her ear. We desperately tried to make her eat anything, but she gently refused (I understand now that she was upset). Then she agreed to eat some cookies. She was shaking at nights and probably was dreaming of countless veterinarians and people that came to our home just to find out that she is not their dog. Later we found out that she was pregnant. She had waited for my mom to come home for several hours and only then gave birth to her puppies.
Her pups did not remind of her in any way and one of them had lived with us for a few months before we found him an owner. We had been trying to find her breeder and the owner for a long time, but she remained with us for the rest of her life.
We think that she was about 8 or 9 years old when she found us and became my wonderful friend and the best gift that I had ever received.
Letty had been our talisman for 4,5 years. We were very happy together… She became very ill in her last years, her heart was very weak and vets couldn’t operate on her. She left us in November of 1990. |

We had no doubts that our next dog will also be an English setter and that OUR PUPPY should be born within 40 days after Letty’s death.
This was true – Tina was born on Christmas and you can read about her on her page. Tina lived a long and happy life, but dogs don’t live forever and she crossed the Rainbow Bridge in September 2003. About four years ago I decided to it was time to get the second dog. You can read about what had happened next on
Tara’s page.
